Montpellier is a wonderful and rich historic city with buildings from the middle-age to the XXI century. It is also a very pleasant place for shopping as well as for having relaxed time in its many cafes and restaurants located in the large pedestrian area. Apart from Montpellier, you can also enjoy the beauty and historic heritage of many towns or villages of the Languedoc-Roussillon region. Montpellier is situated close to the mediterranean shore (15km) and is not far from the "Cevennes" mountains which have been depicted in Robert Stevenson's roman entitled "Travels with a Donkey in the Cévennes " in 1879.
